It's been a while since I've posted on here! I've been taking a tiny break from drawing, though that's not exactly true because I've still been drawing, I've just been focusing on getting better at drawing the face. I've always drawn the face wrong, or basically just a way that most professionals will say is wrong because it allows for mistakes and means things can be out of proportion. So I havent exactly been drawing the head in a very efficient way. Basically I tend to start from the eyes and work my way out. This is bad because it's easy to not notice where somethings are. I've been studying Andrew Loomis and I've been having a bit of a hard time drawing heads his way. I think it's just the way my head works. I am sure if I spent more time on it and studied his books more I could get better at it but I found something that works better for me! New Masters Academy!  If you go back to one of my earlier posts you'll see that I mentioned it. Well I signed up for it and was watching Steve Huston's Structures of the Head part 2 video yesterday and I think it helped me a lot!  I plan to keep studying with New Masters Academy! Stay tuned for more pictures of heads and eyes and noses and mouths!

The image on the left is me drawing the head the Andrew Loomis way (keep in mind I was just beginning with it) and the one on the right is the head I drew after watching Steve Huston's video. Maybe I just learn better by watching someone explain it.

Here I am looking at the planes of the head in a profile view.
